North American Review

North American Review is the oldest literary magazine in the United States. It began in 1815 and moved to several different locations across the country until about 50 years ago, when it was relocated to the University of Northern Iowa where it remains to publish several issues a year celebrating literary works of many authors of poems, short stories—both fiction and nonfiction, and reviews.

I began my internship with North American Review in December 2018 and soon filled my time with the magazine as the social media coordinator. While this position is very versatile, my primary role includes managing social media networks, initiating new social media plans, and maintaining and designing ads and graphics using Adobe Suite products. I have attached some of my work here.

Listed below are some metrics illustrating North American Review’s reach and audience on social media.

  • Facebook Page Likes: 4,309
  • Twitter Followers: 8,467
  • Instagram Followers: 1,357

I also created a brand guide for the magazine for others to reference when creating social media graphics or posting on social media. This primarily serves the editors who periodically run the social media accounts during academic breaks.
